2014 Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale revealed ahead of the Geneva Motor Show

Like most new cars that were introduced in the last weeks, the 2014 Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale will also have its premiere at the Geneva Motor Show with an updated engine, a few improved exterior details and one big change inside.

And the big change in the interior is the inclusion of the rear seats, since the Stradale versions did not have them to help reduce weight. But while the car is heavier it also has an improved 4.7 liter V8 engine that now produces 460hp with lower CO2 emissions and fuel consumption.

The gearbox is the six-speed manual robotized MC Race Shift, and the car now achieves a top speed of 303km/h (188mph) while the 0 to 100km/h (62mph) run is done in around 4.5 seconds.

Outside Maserati added a new carbon fiber bonnet/hood with a central air intake, two rear extractors and 20 inch forged alloy rims around the standard Brembo carbon ceramic brake discs.

KTM X-BOW GT gains a screen when it gets to Geneva

One of the biggest complaints about the KTM X-BOW was the lack of a screen to protect you against wind, bugs, rocks and other things that could hit you while driving on the road, but KTM will bring a new version of the open top sports car to the Geneva Motor Show called the X-BOW GT that will save you against all those hazards.

And to comply with the European homologation process, KTM also added a heater/de-icer and wash/wipe system. While the engine is the same one used in the previous version, the car that will be at the Geneva Motor Show will have a revised engine management, the drive train is 19mm lower, has a new torque support arm and will get a newly designed bonnet.

Volkswagen will also present the Golf GTI in Geneva.

Volkswagen recently announced they were going to publicly display the Golf GTD at the Geneva Motor Show, and today we found out the GTI will also make an appearance in Geneva. The seventh generation Golf will have for the first time a GTI version with two power levels.

There is now a standard version with 220hp and the GTI Performance with 230hp and a front axle differential lock. The engine is the same turbocharged 2.0 liter four cylinder TSI petrol unit with direct injection, and while the power output is different, the maximum torque is the same 350Nm in both versions of the GTI.

You can choose between a manual six-speed gearbox or the automatic six-speed DSG transmission. The standard GTI has a top speed of 246km/h (153mph) and will accelerate from to 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in 6.5 seconds, while the GTI Performance is faster 4km/h (250km/h or 155mph) and 0.1 seconds (6.4 seconds), respectively.

Both versions come with a Stop-Start system and have an average fuel consumption of 6.0l/100km with the manual gearbox, but if you choose the optional six-speed DSG that value will rise to 6.4 and 6.5l/100 for the GTI and GTI Performance.

The look of the GTI is practically equal to the GTD with the exception of the red stripe that passes through the front grille and continues into the headlamps. With the GTI we also get two chrome tailpipes, a sport suspension, 17 inch “Brooklyn” GTI wheels with 225/45 size tyres, special side sills, a diffuser, smoked LED rear lights and LED licence plate illumination. All of that is only available with three exterior colors; “Tornado Red”, “Black” and “Pure White”.

Inside we have the classic tartan pattern “Clark”, a black roofliner and red ambiance lighting, besides the excepted sport steering wheel, GTI gear shift grip and instrument cluster, special trim strips and stainless steel pedals and foot support.

You can order your new GTI from 5th of March for a starting price of €28.350 ($36.990 or £24.470) in Germany.

Lancia Ypsilon S MOMODESIGN and Ypsilon Elefantino coming to Geneva

Lancia will also bring two new special editions to the Geneva Motor Show of the small city car, Ypsilon, besides the already announced Delta S by MOMODESIGN. And one of those Lancia is also called S by MOMODESIGN while the other is the Elefantino special series.

The S MOMODESIGN will be available with five colors, Neve White, Vulcano Black, Argilla Red, Pietra Grey or the new Zaffiro Blue, with a Matte Black for the tailgate, roof and door mirrors. The interior has a black high-tech 'sail' fabric with grey stitching for door panels, dashboard and specific seats giving it a sportier look.

The Elefantino is the new entry level Ypsilon targeted at a younger market. You will be able to choose from several colors or color combinations like Turquoise, Sabbia Beige, Neve White, Pietra Grey and the brand-new two-tone Turquoise/Vulcano Black. The interior also has a different interior with chrome-plated finishes of the dashboard and black fabric seats with turquoise or fuchsia.

The engines are the same that were already available for the remaining range. The 69hp 1.2 liter Fire EVO II, 69hp 1.2 liter Fire EVO II LPG, 85hp 900cc TwinAir (matched with mechanical or robotised sequential gearboxes) and the 95hp turbo diesel 1.3 liter MultiJet II.

You can see them at the Geneva Motor Show.

2013 Volar-E. Another electric "supercar" will be revealed this Friday.

One day the world will be saturated with supercars but today is not that day. Here you have another so called supercar created by the Spanish engineering company Applus+Idiad, who was choosed by the European Comission last year to an electric supercar, with the help of their main partner, the Croatian company Rimac.

The Volar-E prototype was created in just three months, and in that time they made a lightweight carbon fiber bodywork, a tubular chrome-molybdenum chassis and the batteries.

The car will feature a four-wheel drive system, thanks to the four electric motors in each wheel, and will use 10 modules from the Rimac's battery system with total voltage of 640V and 38kWh of energy generating 800hp (596 kW) and 1500Nm (1106lb/ft) of torque.

But this is a car that won't be at Geneva, it have its premiere this Friday at the Circuit de Catalunya.

New Lancia Delta S by MOMODESIGN presented at the Geneva Motor Show

This new version of the aging Lancia Delta will come with several exterior and interior improvements but you won't have any new engines to choose from. That is sad since the Delta is a cool car with distinctive looks and deserved a more powerful engine.

The partnership with MOMODESIGN means the special edition Delta will come with side skirts and bumpers in the same shade as the body, Ecochrome finishes, burnished headlights, 18 inch wheels, twin chrome exhaust tail pipe, gloss black tailgate and two new colors; Anthracite Grey and Anthracite Grey/Eclipse Black two-tone, besides the already available Zenith White, Magma Black and the Zenith White/Eclipse Black two-tone.

Inside we also have Ecochrome inserts (excluding outlets), plus a gloss black central console, yellow tachometer and specific seats in leather and ballistic fabric. But you don't think they are bullet-proof, because they aren't. You also get as standard cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, electrically operated mirrors and, on request, the rear arm rests and the Blue & Me system can be added.

The S by MOMODESIGN is available with the 120hp 1.6 MultiJet, 120hp 1.4 TurboJet LPG, 190hp 1.9 Twinturbo MultiJet and 120hp 1.4 TurboJet engines. And you can combine those engines with a 6-speed manual, Sportronic 6-speed automatic/sequential or a robotised/sequential 6-speed Selectronic transmission.

I wouldn't mind having the 190hp 1.9liter Twinturbo MultiJet with 400Nm that reaches 100km/h (62mph) in under 8 seconds and has a top speed of 222km/h (138mph). But if you want to save some money choose the LPG engine, which is the 1.4liter TurboJet with 120hp and 206Nm of torque with a range of 1411km (877 miles).

Presentation will take place at the Geneva Motor Show and sales start the following month.

[Updated] 2013 McLaren P1 - Are these the official pictures? - They are!

Six new pictures of the McLaren P1 have showed up in a Russian website and are claimed to be the official images of the production version of the British supercar. While i cannot confirm this for now, the latest spy pictures of the P1 were from an yellow test mule.

So if this is really the production version of the P1 we already known almost everything about the car, since the drivetrain was revealed five days ago. For those who didn't read it here, it has a mid-mounted 3.8 liter twin-turbo V8 petrol engine (M838T) working together with an electric motor for a combined output power of 916PS (903bhp) and a maximum torque figure of 900Nm (664lb/ft).

The petrol engine produces 737PS (727bhp) at 7500rpm, and 720Nm of torque from 4000rpm, while the electric engine delivers 179PS (176 bhp) with 260Nm of torque being available from a standstill. They are both connected to a single dual-clutch seven-speed gearbox driving the rear wheels.

Update: Meanwhile McLaren revealed the following.

Zero to 100km/h will take less than 3 seconds, zero to 200 km/h under 7 seconds, and zero to 300 km/h will be achieved in no more than 17 seconds.  Putting that into perspective, that’s 5 seconds faster than the legendary McLaren F1 road car.  Top speed is electronically limited to 350 km/h.

McLaren has also announced that the car will cost from £866,000 on the road with a specification that fully equips the car for both road and track use.
There you have it, everything you need to know about the P1!

Lamborghini reveals a new vehicle! It's a tractor. [Video]

But this Lamborghini only has a top speed of 50km/h and a power output of 120hp and a decent 480Nm of maximum torque at 1600rpm, more than enough to move several tons. And this is the best Lamborghini tractor you can buy, all the other models have weaker performances.

Still it is a good looking tractor. It looks mean and the video advertising the new Lamborghini Nitro was well made. Oh and don't forget it was created by Giugiaro Designs.
Lamborghini Nitro is a step forward in medium power tractors displaying cutting edge technical features. This range is a coming-together of the "fighting bull's" strength and determination.

The new white and black colouring highlights a dual personality, created with elegance and simplicity, high technological content and ease of use, exclusivity and versatility. A unique and unparalleled style runs throughout: Giugiaro Design.

The bonnet features a bold, lowered contour.
The cab is perfectly integrated into the exclusive style of the tractor as a whole.
The interior is a perfect harmony of ergonomics and beauty.
The mudguards provide the finishing touch: with double LED tail lights, a blend of elegance and power typical of the Lamborghini brand.

Fornasari will bring two new models to the Geneva Motor Show

In December Fornasari revealed the Gigi 311GT, a car inspired by the GTs of the 50s with a 6.2-liter V8 engine and that will be able to reach a top speed of 340km/h (211mph) and go from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in 3,5 seconds, and will bring it to the Geneva Motor Show together with another model.

And the other model is an updated version (now it has four-doors) of the Racing Buggy first shown in the end of 2010. The rest we will find out when both cars are shown at the Geneva Motor Show.

Short News: Here's the European Ford EcoSport

What you see here is the European version of the Ford EcoSport which is already sold in several "emerging" markets, like Brazil and Argentina, and will soon become a "Global Model". The premiere in Europe will take place next month at the Geneva Motor Show.

Not much else is known for now but according to some sources Ford will bring the EcoSport to Geneva with the 1.0 liter EcoBoost with 125hp and will upgraded the interior to better suit the European tastes.

Besides that engine a few more petrol and diesel units will be borrowed from the Fiesta, since the platform is the same with some minor changes. Outside the only changes are the LED lights on the front.

BMW 1-Series GT revealed in 3D patent drawings

To be true it wasn't completely revealed but we get to see several of the main aspects of the upcoming rival for the Mercedes B-Class. In these patent drawings we can clearly see the shape of the taillights and headlamps, which look a lot like ones in the Active Sports Tourer Concept (pictured above) shown last year, and the shape of the front bumper, rear panels and the trunk/boot door. See those images below.

So i believe BMW will soon shown the final version of the 1-Series GT, possibly in Geneva or even at the New York International Auto Show next month. We will have to wait but for now i like what i see front this new front wheel drivel car, that BMW doesn't want us to call it a MPV.

2014 Jeep Cherokee revealed (again), this time its official.

It seems that Jeep decided to release clearer pictures of the now confirmed future Cherokee after a few blurry ones were revealed yesterday. And i can't say it looks better, i guess it will be one those cases that you “love it or hate it".

Another thing that was confirmed is that it will make its debut at the New York International Auto Show at the end of March, and that it uses a modified version of the platform used in the Dodge Dart and Alfa Romeo Giulietta.

Find out more about the Liberty replacement, including engines, prices, the rear and the interior, in the upcoming weeks or in the worst case in New York. Still i find it so weird... but at least its different.

Citroen C3 suffers a soft restyle, we already saw it in Brazil.

Citroen will bring the improved C3 to the Geneva Motor Show saying it is the world debut of the little car. The problem is we already saw the car. It was introduced in Brazil in the summer of last year, so lets call it an European premiere of the redesigned C3.

The front of the car was changed, with the exception of the headlamps, and now have the double chevron as the grille, LED daytime running lights in the bumper and redesigned rear tail lights.

Inside we get chrome surrounds with a thermo-coated dashboard, with strips in matte black, warm brown or Moondust grey, matching the updated upholstery.

The new VTi 68 and VTi 82 engines have an average fuel consumption between 4.3 and 4.5l/100 km, and CO2 emissions, between 99 and 104 g/km, while the VTi 120 engine, which is available with a manual or an automatic gearbox, rounds out the petrol engine offer. The new Citroen C3 is also available with five (slow) diesel engines, the HDi 70, e-HDi 70, HDi 90, e- HDi 90 and e-HDi 115.

It will be available right after the Geneva Motor Show with a Hybrid-Air version that consumes only 2.9l/100km and emits just 69g/km of CO2.
